"However, supplements of vitamin E is only slightly reduce the risk of ischemic stroke and the results are generally even greater increased risk of haemorrhagic stroke. So we suggest to be careful and not carelessly take vitamin E," explained Dr Peter Coleman, deputy research director of The Stroke Association, BBC News reported.


Dr. Coleman has warned that people should still maintain a healthy lifestyle and maintain blood pressure and cholesterol. It has a much greater effect in cutting the risk of ischemic stroke than having to take supplements of vitamin E. 


"This is a very interesting study, which showed that the risk of haemorrhagic stroke can be slightly increased by high levels of vitamin E supplements taken," explains Dr. Coleman.

"We urge people to maintain lifestyle with a balanced diet, regular exercise and monitoring their blood pressure to reduce the risk of stroke.
