Website Symbian Foundation will be Closed

Because Nokia has changed his plans to license the operating system (OS), Symbian, Symbian Foundation is now beginning to reduce operational. And next month, Symbian Foundation website will be closed.

As is known, earlier this week, Nokia has decided to take over the full development of the operating system and promised all-out defense of Symbian.

By policy, the role of the Symbian Foundation immediately transitioned from an institution controlling the development of Symbian licenses Symbian administrators only. So later on, the Symbian Foundation will take care of licensing if there is interest in using the Symbian besides Nokia.

Although later closed, the Symbian Foundation website content such as source code, kits, wiki, bug databases, reference documentation and Symbian Ideas remain available, but in DVD format or USB starting February next year.

Not just close the website, as quoted from Cellular-news, on Monday (29/11/2010), feed Twitter @ Symbian.org Symbian and fan page on Facebook also will be terminated. For the Symbian Foundation's own website, reportedly to be closed right on 17 December.

Symbian Foundation said, it worked with Nokia in order to find the best ways to make their official documentation is available to the public
