Apple rumored to be updating their MacBook Pro range, with the technology of data transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps. What kind of technology called Light-Peak this?
As quoted from Softpedia, Monday (29/11/2010), the rumored new MacBook Pro features a 512 GB SSD, with no optical drive, as well as technology Light-Peak.
For those unfamiliar, Light-Peak is super fast data transfer technology that has the bandwidth to 10 Gbps. It is said that this technology could be developed again to reach 100 Gbps in 2020.
Light-Peak until now still in development stage. In the future this technology is intended as a substitute for some single lane bus such as USB, SCSI, SATA, FireWire, PCI Express and HDMI.
As a producer who is always targeting efficiency and new technologies, Apple has been interested in this technology and plans to use it as a standard in future MacBook Pro. To that end, Apple plans to unveil their new MacBook Pro at a special event next year.
