Responding to the height of the report that some popular applications on Facebook users divulge information to advertising networks, Facebook was going to encrypt the identity (ID) users.
The plan, up would provide an optional encryption feature in the next few weeks. It said one of the technicians up Mike Vernal through his blog, this time up the middle to work with developers to ensure a perfect transition into an encryption.
As is known, earlier this week the Wall Street Journal found there are 10 Facebook applications that are vulnerable divulge user data, among them including popular games Farmville, Mafia Wars and Texas Hold'em. These applications are known to spread up the user identity, called the UID for purposes of advertising or the internet to track data.
Reported by PC Mag and quoted on Sunday (24/10/2010), the report then pressing up to reveal more clearly, what information is distributed to third parties.
"This report is exaggerated, especially about the implications of the leaking of user IDs up. We were urged to explain what happened," said Vernal.
Vernal added today some developers have used the technique to remove the ID from the URL. They can spend these improvements on a case by case basis. But it does say Vernal, up himself wants to give the best solution that will solve the problem for all the applications on its platform.
